Welcome » About Us
Harvest Bible Chapel Muskoka is one of 47 Harvest Churches across the World. The original Harvest Bible Chapel began in Rolling Meadows, Illinois in 1988 with a small group of faithful people who wanted to see God change them and their community. They were committed to the same purpose and core values that define Harvest today. And in 2000 they had a vision to plant churches.
Harvest Muskoka began only a short time ago as a few different groups of people who had been impacted by Harvest ministries like "Walk in the Word" and James MacDonald's (founding pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows) teaching at MBC had been praying for God to bring a Harvest Bible Chapel to our community.
In August 2007, after an extended time of prayer and fasting, Kaj Ballantyne felt called by God to step down as the Director of Summit College where he had been for over a decade, in order to become the pastor of Harvest Muskoka. After a year at the Harvest Training Center in Chicago he and his family came home to continue the work in Muskoka.
With a small group of people the church launched on September 21st, 2008 in Port Sydney at VK Greer Memorial Elementary School. Harvest Muskoka has since grown and God has been glorified through passionate worship, bold proclaimation of the Word, and transformed lives.
